CORUISK.

On Sunday 1st March CORUISK was enjoying a somewhat shortened sojourn on the Rothesay route, relieving ARGYLE and BUTE, in turn for annual overhaul. This situation ceased on Wednesday 19th when she handed over the secondary service to SATURN at 1135 then left Rothesay immediately on a direct sailing to Craignure. After the night there she continued on next day to Mallaig.

The Summer schedule, unchanged from 2007, was introduced on Friday 21st, but got off to the worst possible start, with CORUISK being stormbound all day at Mallaig. She finally managed to begin the service on Saturday 22nd.

The weather continued to be annoying in April and she operated to 1325 on Saturday 5th before becoming stormbound at Mallaig. She returned to service next day at 1030 but a further deterioration caused her to come off again after that sailing for the rest of the day. A low tide on Monday 7th caused her to miss the 1215 and 1335 round trips and the 1335 again next day. The elements settled themselves down thereafter but she was forced to miss the 1015 and 1135 round trips from Armadale on Saturday 26th because of the weather.

Technical problems led to the cancellation of the 0900 and 1030 sailings on Sunday 4th May and she began her day with a sailing from Mallaig at 1200. On completion she returned to her normal roster at 1600.

From Saturday 1st June the Sunday service to Armadale was stepped up with the provision of extra sailings, leaving Mallaig at 1240 and 1440 and returning from Armadale at 1330 and 1520: these sailings ended for the season on Sunday 31st August.
